Input into the new Local Nature Partnership for Berkshire

We are currently exploring the development of a Local Nature Partnership for Berkshire. As part of this development we want to go through an exercise of exploring ideas and discussing possible ways the partnership could function to benefit biodiversity and communities in Berkshire.

Local Nature Partnership funding success for Berkshire

Berkshire Nature Conservation Forum (BNCF) has been successful in the application to Defra for funding to develop our existing partnership into one of a Local Nature Partnership. The funding will support capacity building, and as part of this we will be looking to work with a range of new partners (including business, health & wellbeing, access, local community groups) to create a new Local Nature Partnership for Berkshire.

UK National Ecosystem Assessment published

The UK National Ecosystem Assessment has now been published. This is the first analysis of the UK’s natural environment in terms of the benefits it provides to society and our continuing economic prosperity.

Berkshire Bird Index

The Berkshire Bird Index (BBI) group has just published the 2008 report. This is an annual survey of bird populations in Berkshire and contains lots of information facts and figures on the current trends of Berkshire's birds.

Making Biodiversity Work - The second South East England Biodiversity Forum (SEEBF) Conference (26 May 2010)

There is an increasing awareness and interest in the services that are provided by our natural environment. Hand-in-hand with this there are numerous attempts to place values on these services. This conference focused on the use of ecosystem services, potential methods for valuing these services and then went on to explore the potential for business involvement in the delivery of biodiversity targets.
